Apparently, it drives like nothing else. I'm just having a hard time with the prehistoric gauge cluster and the lackluster sound. Thoughts?

What are options for replacing a gauge cluster after market? With the deals you apparently can find on the ATS (though I don’t know about the V), it might be worth it.

Personally the only sound that would ever deter me from a car would be the fartcan add-on ‘features’ to Subaru/Honda/etc. As for cluster*...I would always love a fancy display but again, can’t see that deterring me.
If that is a huge factor to you though, I would wait until either the price makes it less an issue or til you find something that checks all the marks.
*just to note that, the ATS cluster is fugly.. I can’t believe Cadi shipped a high end car with that.

You can put a Racepak in almost anything. Don’t know if it’s worth it though.

Dunno. I guess it comes down to how important it is to an owner that the part of the car he’ll spend the most time looking at be something he wants to look at. Different priorities.

I think ATS-Vs are fantastic cars. The sound could be better, but that is a minor issue.
As it seems you haven’t driven one yet, I highly recommend you go do so. Give it a whirl around some good roads and see what you think. The cluster and any other options will be minor compared to the fun time you’ll have driving that beast.
I saw a royal blue one here the other day, smooth looking car.

It’s kind of weird how that beige gauge cluster has lasted so long. Even the Camaro has a fancy cluster. You figured after hearing about how lame it is in the regular ATS models from all the reviews they would have gone with something cool for the V.

I’d say go and drive one. Had a friend that was thinking about a regular ATS, until he drove it and was completely underwhelmed by it.
